Description
The Archimedes puzzle, perhaps the oldest known mathematical puzzle, was developed approximately 2,200 years ago by the famous Greek mathematician Archimedes. The wooden puzzle consists of 14 pieces of various shapes, and the goal is to combine them into a square. Mathematician Bill Cutler discovered in 2003, using a computer, that there are 536 unique ways to assemble it into a square shape. However, finding even one is difficult. How many do you think you can find? When not in use, the puzzle itself serves as a decorative object, adding a unique touch to any room. The frame is made of varnished MDF, and the pieces are made of FSC-certified pine.
